If a believer is dependent upon governments, employment, medical care, insurances, superannuation, mortgages, even pesticides, fuel and transport, money, and many other worldly institutions, he is not separate from the world. Therefore he is not free from judgment. Nor is he properly in YHWH’s Kingdom.
The deception that a believer is saved at initial conversion holds that person in bondage to carnality and spiritual immaturity. Their lifestyle is little different to an unbeliever’s. Most of the Church considers this a normal everyday life. It fails to demonstrate a life of faith patterned after Yahshua Messiah. For he who believes on Yahshua as Saviour not only believes it but lives his life according to that belief.
In the Gospel of Yahshua Messiah, salvation is never presented as a foregone conclusion. Christianity is not a walk in the park. It must be understood, hoped for, and sought after. Salvation is the reward for a life of faith, and then only if we endure to the end of our earthly life in the hopes of what Yahshua has done for us and what we do by following Him.
ROMANS 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
I JOHN 3:2-3 Beloved, now we are the sons of YHWH, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure.
MATTHEW 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for My name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
LUKE 8:11-12 Now the parable is this: The seed is the Word of YHWH. Those by the wayside are those that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the Word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
ROMANS 5:8-10 …But YHWH commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to YHWH by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by (following the example of) His life.
HEBREWS 6:9-12 …And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
See also JOHN 12:47-48; II TIMOTHY 2:10-12, 19:21, 3:14-15; HEBREWS 2:1-3; and many more pertaining to salvation and everlasting life.
Dying to self and separation from the world leads to a resurrected life in Yahshua in the Kingdom of YHWH. These people, born (again) of YHWH, filled with His Spirit, no longer commit sin: Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him… Whosoever is born of YHWH doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of YHWH (I JOHN 3:6-9).
Few Christians experience this lifestyle with its accompanying power, authority, and purity. Those that do are often shunned and persecuted by the false church–as David was by Saul–or venerated. For Messiah sent me not to baptise, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Messiah be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is for them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of YHWH (I COR. 1:17-18).
There is a story in Alexandr Solzhenitsyn’s classic The Gulag Archipelago, about a village of Old Believers who escaped the starvation of Siberia by separating themselves. In Stalin’s era whole races were simply uprooted from their country and dumped in Siberia to starve. One whole village stole away and lived for twenty years self-sufficiently on the taiga in the Siberian wastelands. Infrequently, the headman would take animal pelts to the nearest market to exchange for metal goods such as axe heads and fishing hooks. At the conclusion of his business there he would melt away like a criminal.
They were discovered by the pilot of a plane flying overhead following World War II. He reported a village where no village was supposed to be. The Russians struggled through to them six months later. These ‘despicable deserters’ (how dare they escape starvation?) were charged with anti-Soviet agitation and being a hostile organization (!!), then deported to concentration camps.
True believers are absolutely hated and despised by the world. Carnal believers find a comfortable place in it.
