What will be the sign of Yahshua’s next coming?
Few have either the wherewithal or will to study the Scriptures to the depth needed for true understanding. Many are content to believe the tripe served up in most churches about Yahshua’s next advent. Tripe is the stomach of a cow. My mother used to serve it up for dinner when I was a child. I hated it. She would make a milky white sauce to go with it. I hated that too. She was otherwise a great cook.
The answer is contained in MATTHEW 24 starting at verse 23, MARK 13 starting at verse 21, and LUKE 17 starting at verse 22. LUKE 21 skips right over this question.
Yahshua starts by again warning His listeners about false prophets and messiahs. Because He is obviously speaking of our era, this must be modern denominations, sects, and cults. No matter what great signs they manifest, we are NOT to believe them, for our Messiah will return to us as they angels told the incredulous disciples as they gazed heavenward in ACTS 1:11: in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven. He will come from Heaven down through the sky, but all that shall be seen is a quick lightning flash …as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west… (MATT. 24:27).
MATTHEW is pretty straightforward, if not easily understood, but LUKE is another matter entirely. Please have a look at it yourself. Yes, do get out your Bible. LUKE 17:25, after the same statement about lightning, flips back to Yahshua’s coming suffering, rejection, and crucifixion at His first advent. In verse 26 He leapfrogs forward again to our day being as it was in the days of Noe (Noah) with the flood coming to destroy them all (v.27, 29). This is confirmed in verse 30, for it concerns the day (our time) when the Son of man is revealed. Verse 31 flips back AGAIN to when the Christian remnant is to be ready to flee Yerushalem and not look back like Lot’s wife when they do (v.32). Verse 32 to 36 has people being snatched away supernaturally as in OUR time. In verse 37 the disciples ask Yahshua when all this shall be? His answer? Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. (Don’t you just LOVE it?!!! Isn’t it great when we have to work HARD for our supper? Trying to untangle meanings.) This enigmatic Scripture ties in with MATTHEW 24:28, our next verse in that Gospel, which, as shall be explained, is in our time.
Why the switching back and forth between the time in which He is speaking and our day, albeit yet future? Matthew (24:15) and Mark ((13:14), the Gospel writers, entreat whoso readeth, let him understand. So does John in REVELATION 1:3: Blessed is he that readeth, and…hear the words of this prophecy… Yahshua was NOT then saying this, it is Matthew, Mark, and John saying it TO US, THEIR READERS. The disciples THEN were LISTENING to Yahshua, but regarding he that readeth, it was not WRITTEN until years later, so LISTENING here means with spiritual ears, not literally listening. No one was listening to John as he expounded REVELATION. He wrote it down.
The switching back and forth between the two eras is to show us, the readers of these two prophecies, that there is a connection between then and now, or rather, our future. There is a mystery here to be revealed and it is imperative we understand it in order to be ready for Yahshua’s next coming. The connection is that what happened then is virtually going to be repeated in our time. Yerushalem will again be surrounded by armies, there will be a tribulation there, and our Messiah WILL NOT REAPPEAR before this event. So do not believe any prophet or ‘Messiah’ who says otherwise, despite any great wonders they may perform.
This connection is again made in the next verse of MATTHEW (24:28) which is why this verse is placed here within the answer about the sign of His coming: For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
The carcass is what’s left of Yerushalem after the future tribulation mirroring the AD 70 devastation, or more accurately, desolation. The eagles are the Elect gathered there. YHWH’s people are often likened to eagles in Scripture. This the end of question two–it having been answered. Unlike the dating of the question one event, the events of question two and three occur together. We can know this by the carcass and eagles verse of question two. It connects to the events of question three by the word gathered.
And why are the Elect gathered to Yerushalem, during a devastating war? That’s coming up. Over a number of posts, because it is too much for a sentence, or even a paragraph. I will only say here that, contrary to the interpretation of Bible scholars, who have no business interpreting Scripture anyway, the gathering of YHWH’s Elect and the rapture, or catching away as it is rendered in the Bible, are two separate events at two separate times, three and a half years apart. This is in the book of REVELATION, and is perfectly clear WHEN IT IS EXPOUNDED or explained, to those who have ears to hear.
Who SHOULD be interpreters of Scripture, if not Bible scholars with numerous letters after their names? Surely YHWH will do nothing, but he revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets (AMOS 3:7). And all those secrets will have been revealed by the mid-point of the last SEVEN YEARS OF TRIBULATION (REV. 19:7), as He hath declared to His servants the prophets.
